This semester, students enrolled in the Community Programming and Planning course at UNC-Greensboro were divided into groups and responsible for partnering with a local agency to plan an event.

One particular group chose to work with the YWCA of High Point, NC and decided to put on a christian hip hop concert. The planning, execution and success of the event is part of the students' final exam. Laura Jones is the young lady who's leading this group's effort, and on Saturday April 27 the "Beats For The Block" concert will take place.

"Beats For The Block" is free, open to the public and family friendly. There will be live music, food vendors, games and prizes.

What a cool idea to connect with the community while promoting positive hip hop. Laura, I hope y'all receive an "A"!
