So glad to see the trailer for Kareem Fort and Kevin Nottingham’s DEMOS documentary. While at A3C in 2011, I had the opportunity to watch the duo film the interview with Skyzoo for this film. The documentary will be a guide to independent artist success and features appearances from Black Thought, Thurzday, No ID, Mack 10, Nitty Scott, Crooked I and many more.

Y’all take about three minutes to watch the trailer after the jump. The full length feature will be released in May 2013, and you can find out if the piece will be screened in a city near you by visiting the official DEMOS Documentary website.

On a related, unrelated note earlier this week P The Wyse over at Praverb.net posted a great interview FuNkwoRm of IndieHipHop.net conducted with Wendy Day of Rap Coalition. Wendy Day is an industry veteran and has negotiated successful deals for multiple artists. In her interview, Wendy discusses the inspiration behind her book How To Get A Record Deal, indie versus major,  social media, hip-hop blogs and more. It’s a great read and resource of information for independent artists.
