I’ve seen and heard 9th Wonder give plenty of talks on hip hop culture, producing and working with Jay-Z, and other various topics but this particular one may be the best thus far. Over this past weekend (Saturday Sept 22nd) the International Music Software Trade Association conference took place in New York City. The Innertainment panel portion of the event featured 9th Wonder as the keynote speaker, along with Young Guru.

At the end of the panel 9th spoke candidly for about six minutes. Some interesting points in this talk include the importance of not getting caught up in images, doing you (which sounds so cliche, but is really important), who is for the culture and who is not, specifically Gucci Mane and Flockaveli The Great. 9th Wonder’s point of view on their music may surprise you.
