Duke University’s Dr. Mark Anthony Neal, professor of black popular culture and host of Left Of Black, wrote an article that appeared in today’s The Atlanta Post.

In the piece, Dr. Neal discusses the history, rise and decline of black music as it relates to business and branding. He draws comparisons between Detroit’s Motown, Memphis’s Stax Records and Philadelphia’s International Records, using Sylvia Rhone’s recent departure from Motown Records as a jump-off point.
