It’s unordinary to see someone else besides a rapper or athlete noted for flossing and reckless spending. Actually Annie Lebovitz hasn’t been accused of ballin’ out of control but based on news stories this may have been the case.
Backstory: If you’ve missed the news Annie Lebovitz is one of the most known photographer’s in the world. I mean the lady photographed the Queen of England for goodness sakes. Said photographer had a whole lot of debt, taxes and homes and took out a loan last year for $24 million dollars, putting up as collateral her pictures, houses and intellectual property.
Well now the loan hasn’t been paid back and the loan people want their money. Tomorrow. Problem is Annie Lebovitz is saying ‘ya’ll ain’t coming in my house to take this stuff!’. Well that’s not what she said but I imagine it was something like that. She’s refusing to let the Art Capital Group appraise her real estate and arrange for sale of the photographs to pay back the money owed to them. Now not only does she owe the money but is in breach of contract for refusing to cooperate.
The talking heads on MSNBC, MSN, and CNN are notorious for calling out hip hop artists for excessive displays of wealth and prosperity. It’s going to be interesting to watch this one play out. Somebody is going to save the day–no way will they let one of the most famous female photographers in history reputation be marred in a legacy of unpayed debt. Kinda like how Scott Storch blew
$30 million in 6 months yet is back and working in the industry. Martha Stewart went to prison for insider trading, did a bid and still came back as the Queen of Domesticated Housewives for heaven’s sakes.
