?uestlove has collaborated with tUnE yArDs, Angelique Kidjo, and Akua Naru for a remake of Fela Kuti’s "Lady". In a behind the scenes video, we watch as the previously mentioned artists recreate the classic track and discuss the meaning of it for modern African women.

The finished product is to be included in Red Hot + Fela, a new Fela Kuti compilation album that will be released by the Red Hot Organization and (RED) campaign.

Sidebar: Germany-based emcee Akua Naru is one of the coldest rappers ever. I caught her American tour with the Digflo band last Fall when it touched down on southern soil. Hands down it was one of the best hip hop shows I’ve ever been to.
