This might be the coolest video I’ve seen all day. Earlier this year, Intel began presenting a documentary series titled "Visibly Smart", where the combination of art, traditions and technology is explored globally.
In the latest series, the tech giant films a group of young Indonesian emcees known collectively as the Jogja Hip Hop Foundation. The group fuses old and new Indonesian traditions plus technology into their emceeing, DJ’ing and videos.
You also get to see how they use traditional Javanese poetry for themes and lyrics in their rhymes, and how traditional gamelan music is a part of their production and then mixed with modern hip hop beats and rhythms.
The documentary also shows how the computer helps them produce and distribute their music, videos, and concerts to their fans in Indonesia and beyond.
