Real talk I think BET should drop the awards and re-brand the show the BET Hip Hop Cyphers. That’s the only reason I watch year after year. Do you remember who won what after the show?

Anyway this year’s cyphers rocked like they always do. Shady 2.0/Slaughterhouse/Yelawolf had the best, with Eminem totally killing it. Yelawolf, Joe Budden, Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5’9 all smashed. Was I the only one who caught Joe Budden’s slick line about Watch The Throne though?

My other cypher favorites were B.O.B., Ace Hood, Chris Brown, Stalley, Blind Fury and Skillz.

Another thing, I always thought the cyphers were freestyles, so a big two thumbs down to Rick Ross rhyming over Meek Mill’s bars. How is it a freestyle when your homie raps along with you and knows your lyrics word for word?
