In case you haven’t noticed, Percy Miller aka Master Percy aka Mr. Make Em Say Ugggghhhh is on a campaign to bring the legendary No Limit Records back.
In the mid 90’s No Limit Records set the blueprint for an independent label’s success. After signing a distribution deal with Priority Records, Master Percy kept ownership of all master recordings. Throughout the late 90’s, No Limit Records released scores of material. He eventually expanded the label with more artists, released and/or starred in several movies and invested into other ventures.
By the early 2000s though, No Limit Records had fallen back (or fallen off, depending on your viewpoint), and The Tank had come to a halt. Now it’s 2011 and Master Percy has a new track out with La Flare called "Trending". Silkk The Shocker has new material out, and so does Lil Romeo.
In this week’s edition of Where Is Hip Hop?, Randy and I discuss: Can Master Percy bring No Limit Records Back?
