‘Million Dollar Team’ (Video)–warrenJae…

My 76 year old Aunt Ola was the coolest old person I know and #1 fan of everthing I’ve done with the brand since day one; from the radio show, to the website, even the T shirt line. She read the blog regularly, forwarded the weekly newsletter to her friends, and would tell anyone who would listen about what I was doing. We had many conversations about music, life, men plus much more.

This summer my Aunt fell ill so I was in South Carolina often helping out.There was a lot going on with my life and the brand andIwasthisclose to quitting the blog, show, etc. We talked for over 3 hours one afternoon and Aunt Ola gave the pep talk of my life, the essence of which was to not give up on my dreams. With all we discussed and shared that day, it was one of the best conversations we ever had.

At that time I didn’t know it, but that was the last time I spoke with my Aunt. She died of cancer a few days later.

“Million Dollar Team” holds a special place for me, for two reasons. One, I had no idea warrenJae included me on the song until it was released.

Second, the day my cameo was shot for this video I’d literally just left the funeral for my Aunt. It was one of the saddest days of my life.

As I think back to that day, our long conversations about life, I can’t help but feel that my dreams, the way all has happened to the brand (good, bad, great and frustrating) and continues to work out is exactly how it’s supposed to be.

“Million Dollar Team” is the last visual off warrenJae’s What Dreams May Come project, before the release of his next mixtape The Dream Catcher.
