The fact that OXYxMORON are releasing a new project soon is some of the best Carolina hip hop music news I’ve heard all month. Their mixtape My Well Smokes Good, which dropped back in May 2011, made my The Top Carolina Hip Hop Releases Of 2011 list. It wasn’t just me who felt the project though, since I saw it made it onto a couple of other blogger lists as well. My Well Smokes Good covered love, friendship, good times, weed stories, breakups, depression, suicide, enjoying life, feeling good, and just being yourself all on one project. I considered it a complete release because just about every emotion and reaction to it that a young person experiences as they’re coming into their own was rhymed about.
OXYxMORON (Pedro English, Ment Nelson, and Tony London) will be releasing their second project next month on November 12. I wonder why a Monday though? Not sure but I will find out. On Christmas Eve 2011 they announced The Woods’ project’s title so it’s taken almost a full year for them to finish it up. I saw the fellas out at A3C last weekend and they said they’ve all now dropped out of Francis Marion University to pursue music full time.
