Speaker Minds is a six member hip hop fusion band based out of Portland, Oregon consisting of Diezel P, DLux The Light, Donnell Kennedy (guitar), Ian North, LeNeya Luck, and Finger Pretzel.
The group just released this 9 track collaborative EP in conjunction with St. Louis Landon Wordswel and saxophonist Malcolm Lewis. The overall sound of the project is reminiscient of 90’s boom bap, includes several socially conscious records (remember those?), and a couple samples of classic Boogie Down Production records.
This is the first time a Portland hip hop artist(s) has been posted around these parts, and the EP is pretty good so take a moment to check it out.
