Tech N9ne was on this week’s MTV Sucker Free Sunday. I never get tired of hearing about how he built his Strange Music empire from nothing to the #1 independent label in the game. Every time I hear/read about his story, it always makes me wonder why anyone would want to be signed to a major in the age of the indie.

Anyway, in the clip above Tech N9ne discusses the reasons behind starting his own label. You can peep video after the jump where Tech N9ne talks about his experiences with major labels and how Strange Music came to be. 

While watching the show on Sunday, I also peeped how Tech N9ne mentioned that major labels call his offices all the time asking for advice on how to market their artists. I haven’t found the clips online from this weeks show where he states it, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

In other Sucker Free news, this past Sunday’s feature with Tech N9ne was the highest rated episode ever of Sucker Free Sundays.
