Every now and then Randy and I will focus a Where Is Hip Hop? segment on the Carolinas. He’s from Charleston, SC and I’m from High Point, NC; although neither of us live there now we keep our fingers on the pulse of what’s going on in our respective home base.
This week on Where Is Hip Hop? we discuss how both Carolinas are buzzing with several artists that are gaining national exposure. Lugoff, SC’s Blind Fury is currently a four week BET 106 & Park Champion, Greensboro, NC’s P. Wonda has a deal with Interscope on the table plus making records with G.O.O.D. Music artists & Charleston, SC’s Righchus released a mixtape last week that had over 1000 downloads in less than one day.
Based on those points we discuss if 106 & Park appearances equals a solid career, if hip hop is ready for a blind emcee, J. Cole’s star level status as well as Charlamange Tha God’s returning reign as the most feared man in radio right now.
