The Alpha Theory (formerly known as Jocelyn Ellis & The Alpha Theory) is a multi-cultural band based out of Charlotte. Their sound is a mash of soul, rock and hip hop. The lead singer Jocelyn Ellis can really sang and the groups’ live shows are an experience such that, if they’re ever in your town you shouldn’t miss it.
Earlier this year they released an EP, In The Beginning, that has a song on it called “The High Life” about hip hop superstars that reminds me that it’s got to be lonely at the top. Anyway “Sell Me A Cloud” is a new jam released earlier this summer as a live version, the original was produced by 9th Wonder.
