Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hills’ Independent Weekly is the #1 media outlet in the area for indie bands, artists, businesses, art, culture and everything else; Eric Tullis is The Indie’s hip hop journalist.

Last week (September 8-11) marked the inaugural Hospscotch Music Festival which included 130 bands and 10 venues over the course of 3 days/nights. The festivals headline acts included Public Enemy, Broken Social Scene and Panda Bear.

To kick off the music festival The Independent Weekly presented “Love Is Local Vol. 2”, a pre-Hopscotch Hip Hop show and extended an invitation for www.nancioradioshow.com to be one of the events’ co-presenting sponsors. The show was September 8 at The Pour House Music Hall and the lineup included area favorites King Mez, Kourvoisier, Freebass 808, Tyler Hipnosis, Blaze The Sky (SkyBlew & Anon Blaze) and Dow Jones. On the 1s and 2s was DJ Flash (Little Brother’s DJ).

Above and below are pictures from the event taken by Angie of AngieLuvsPhotography.

Many thanks to Eric Tullis and The Independent Weekly for supporting local bloggers and independent media outlets!

Also super shout out to The Pour House staff, Angie, everyone who attended the show and all of the artists NOT on the bill for coming out and supporting the event!
