In almost six years of blogging about Carolina hip hop, I’ve noticed that approximately every one to two years, the lineup of the most buzzing artists changes. This pretty much mimics what happens in mainstream hip hop, where you see an artist literally “everywhere” at one point (print, TV, blogs, tours, etc.) and then about 1.5 years after that it’s “hey remember insert artist name here?”.

Fayetteville, NC resident Kaj Kadence is one of the artists whose name has been buzzing regionally for some time and hasn’t fallen back yet. His music and flow is above par, and his stage presence is solid. It’s at the point now where it’ll be interesting to see if the consistency remains and his brand continues to grow.
