A couple of years ago Madison Jay coined the phrase “raps like wrestling.” Back then he released a couple tracks that featured soundbites from known wrestling personalities and matches. It’s interesting how Hip hop culture is now almost overran with publicity stunts similar to wrestling theatrics. I still believe Big Sean’s “Control”, which didn’t appear on Hall of Fame but came out a bit before the album was released, dropped just to help generate even more buzz for the new project. “Raps like wrestling” can definitely be applied to these top rope theatrics. Anything to get those album sales and concert attendances up.
