Nanci O Is Hip Hop

Last night UNC-TV aired an excellent piece on the show "North Carolina Now" about the ever growing North Carolina hip hop scene. Front runners 9th Wonder, King Mez, J-Cole, and Phonte were featured and talk about being from here and making a living as a NC-based hip hop act. They also discuss how the culture of NC influences their music.

In addition 9th Wonder shows viewers his record room, talks about early 90’s NC hip hop, gives great advice to folks who want to come into the game, using the internet to spread your message plus more. Phonte talks about the NC hip hop scene being bigger then Little Brother and the entrepreneurial spirit of NC hip hop.

DJ D-Cutta of WKNC’s 88.1 FM (NC State University’s student station) and host of The 2.0 Show (one of the best hip hop radio shows in the area) and ECSU student Papi Makem Leen were interviewed as well.
