NC’s coolest cool kids Kooley High were to be the fourth guest interview during last weeks’ Hot! Dope! Fresh! feature night but couldn’t make it due to a last minute gig.
This past Sunday the group invited me to come kick it at the infamous Break Room Studios and do the interview there. If you recall they were on the show exactly one year ago and had the phone lines and listeners going nuts. Since that time alot of good things have happened: Rolling Stone put them on the hype monitor as a top group to watch in ’09, Tab-One dropped the Tabloids, Charlie Smarts released f’alex, DJ Ill Digitz copped a highly coveted time slot at K 97.5 FM Raleigh, NC, Rapsody got signed to 9th Wonder’s JAMLA record label, the group released a mini movie, and Phonte proclaimed them the best thangs smoking out of NC right now.

Even after all Kooley High has accomplished in the past year they still have a full plate of upcoming projects. I’m most thirsty for Rap’s: as reported earlier a legendary female emcee is slated to host her upcoming mixtape.
