Now this is dope. The city of Philadelphia has sanctioned a mural to be created in honor of the legendary Roots crew.
During a press conference yesterday in Philly, the director of the city’s Mural Arts Program revealed the news. The mural is set to be an eight month project and will allow artists to submit mural design ideas. Also planned to be included is a storefront art studio for community workshops and "Roots 101" arts education classes for students. A final location has not been set yet but the mural is scheduled to be completed by next summer.
The Roots’ 13th album, Undun, drops on December 6.
