Nanci O Is Hip Hop

Since I’m back on my sophisticated edge tip + feeling so girl powered up this new track from two dope west coast femcees is right on time.

Kandi Cole and Miki Vale are both members of The (SIS)Tem, the largest all female hip hop collective in the United States. The group consists of producers, lyricists, vocalists and DJs. Oracle, DVS1, Medusa, Raven Sorvino and the rest of ya’ll what it do.

The (SIS)Tem is like the female Wu-Tang Clan in that there are about 10 + members in total; don’t be fooled though they don’t rock Timbs and run around yelling ‘Son’, ‘Gawd’ and ‘Ya Feel Me.’ These girls are putting in some serious work in the west and are consistanly putting out dope material and have been packing out shows for the past 2 years.

If you’re new around these parts The (SIS)Tem made the long trek across country to perform at our Women Of Hip Hop 2009 event back in March. They tore the stage down with their lyrical skills and west coast flavor. Since that time they’ve linked up with several East Coast femcees for projects. My partner in estrogen and the love of hip hop Glennisha Morgan over at The Fembassy is extremely diligent in keeping up with all of The (SIS)Tem’s major releases and events, in addition to other femcees you may have forgotten about or never heard of.

‘Grown Woman’ will be on Kandi & Miki’s ’50/50′ mixtape dropping at the end of the year. Download the track here.
