will.i.am continues to stay ahead of the technology curve, in front of other artists. It’s kind of hard to believe that Google+ is only about 90 days old, and within that timeframe it has had 91 different product improvements.
+Hangouts is a functionality of Google+ that uses live video to bring people together, face-to-face-to-face. The set up sounds similar to USTREAM, in that you can broadcast and record your session, as well as invite other people to "hangout", .i.e view the stream. However there are additional features of +Hangouts that sets it apart from USTREAM. The program allows you to incorporate Google Docs to present documents to viewers; with Sketchpad you and your viewers can draw or scribble together, and Screensharing allows you to share your desktop.
A limitation is that +Hangouts only allows you to to "hangout" with up to 9 different viewers. That changes this evening.
Tonight at 9PM will.i.am will be hosting the first official on air hangout using the +Hangouts technology. Any member of the Google+ community can join in.
With this move I wonder if the Google+ product is not spreading like Google thought it would so they’re bringing in will.i.am to help spread the word on it’s functionality. What do you think?
