Reading a post titled ‘Hip Hop Needs Some P*ssy’ over at Maurice Garland’s website today and having had a recent conversation with some folks about females in hip hop inspired this post.

There’s a ton of femcees out here grinding but as usual they get overlooked. Glennisha Morgan over at The Fembassy has the most comprehensive and up to date site on the internets in regards to women in hip hop. She keeps up to date on femcees, their new material, news and business endeavors. Everytime I stop by there she has information on a female rapper that I’ve never heard of.

Glennisha is a journalist who writes for Clutch Magazine & Milkshake Kicks. She was also one of our 2009 Women of Hip Hop honorees.

Shylise over at Underground Girls Of Hip Hop keeps up with femcees putting in work out on the west coast.
