Bun B, Orgone and DJ Ayres laid it down last night @ the Cats Cradle…the crowd was not packed to the gills but Scions’ promotions was wacked this time around.Typically the email notifications start weeks before their events. They’ve bought De La Soul, Slick Rick and Talib Kweli through in the past.
This time around I didn’t get the email invite until Sunday, and speaking with folk after the show most didn’t hear about the show until the weekend or the day of.
All that aside Bun laid it down for H-Town, the South and Hip Hop as well! He ran through the catalog of U.G.K. albums, rhyming from the latest album all the way back to Too Hard To Swallow, Dirty Money and Riding Dirty. The crowd was super hype and overly crunk. It wasn’t packed out but it was definitely thicker than a snicker. There were so many moments when the crowd took over with the lyrics and it was no question that those who did turn out for the show came with full awareness of U.G.K.’s material and legacy in the game (present company included).
Word is already on the curb about who Scion is bringing next!!!
