Nanci O Is Hip Hop

The intro on the track "Brown Skin Lady" (where two guys are talking about light skinned women and being conditioned by "the man"), off Mos Def and Talib Kweli’s classic 1998 album Black Star, samples a sound clip from the 1989 independent film Chameleon Street.

Chameleon Street satires the true life story of Detroit con artist William Douglas Street, Jr, who impersonated reporters, doctors and lawyers in order to make money. The movie won the Grand Jury Prize at the 1990 Sundance Film Festival.
