The Edgefield Daily, the hometown newspaper of Edgefield, SC’s Shawt & G (aka Rebellious), recognized the duo for their 2011 South Carolina Music Award nominations with an article highlighting their projects and work they’ve put in so far:
EDGEFIELD – Local hip-hop artists Mendez Curry (Shawt) and Thomas Glover (G) of Edgefield County have been nominated for two 2011 South Carolina Music Awards Pulling in the title and honor of the 2010 South Carolina Music Awards "Group of the Year." Rebellious has again been nominated for two awards surrounding this years 2011awards show. Since its inception in 2008, The South Carolina Music Awards has grown rapidly in popularity; attracting music connoisseurs from all over the country. Last year, over 2,000 people attended the weekend gala of events and this year promises to surpass that amount.
The dynamic creative partnership of Co-Producers, Marcus Housey and Shera Bass created the awards as a way to focus on “the best and brightest" of South Carolina talent.
