Ever since I caught wind of the news that Uncle Luke is running for Mayor of Miami-Dade County, I’ve tried to stay on top of any news coming out of South Florida about the race.
The latest developments is that the current Mayor, Carlos Alvarez, was kicked out of office this week following a recall election.
So Uncle Luke is now a few steps closer to possibly being the Mayor. Earlier this month on March 4th, he filed the neccessary paperwork to be a candidate. Now with the current Mayor out, the race is for a new Mayor officially on.
Uncle Luke’s platform includes lower taxes (doesn’t everybody’s though?), increase affordable housing, handle Jackson Memorial Hospital’s financial problems, and find money for county parks. You can read more about his platform here.
