If you haven’t heard by now Tyler Perry sat down recently for an in-depth and revealing interview about the horrors of abuse he experienced as a child. Opening up and talking about physical and especially sexual abuse to a world wide audience has got to be tough.
Child molestation is a dirty little secret in many communities and cultures. In a sense I can now see why Tyler Perry felt a certain type of way about the ‘Winston Jerome’ Boondocks episode.
It’s never too soon to talk with children, teach them about right and wrong touches and impressing upon them the importance of telling an adult until they are believed and safe.
