I’ve been up on ScholarMan’s music since late 2009. I haven’t seen him too much on the major blogs but he’s obviously been making noise in the game.
ScholarMan is based out of Maryland and has put out some dope projects since I’ve been checking for him, including The Hood Stories: Remixes EP, Indomitable Will Mixtape, and the Hiroshima Fushion EP, where he remixed the bands soul and jazz sound with a heavily added dose of hip hop.
Yelawolf was on MTV’s RapFix Live with Sway recently and during the show they checked out ScholarMan’s “Lyrical Baptism” video, off his ExiStance mixtape, and gives some feedback on it.
The video is kinda wild on some mind control tip and the track has no hook. At any rate it sounds like Yela was feeling it so it’ll be interesting to see where ScholarMan’s movement goes from here.
